Our Story

Meet Greg Johnson

Founder, Retired & Ready

I retired from the corporate world. Apparently, I forgot to stop working.

After a 35-year corporate career, I figured retirement would mean more golf, more pickleball, more cruising, and considerably fewer meetings.

And for the most part, I was right.

But somewhere between tee times, pickleball games, and cruise vacations, I came up with an idea: Why not create something fun for people who finally have time to enjoy themselves?

That’s how Retired & Ready was born.

What started as an idea for a few coloring and activity books turned into a collection celebrating the hobbies, adventures, and everyday humor of retirement.

My first three books—Retired & Ready to Dink, Retired & Ready to Swing, and Retired & Ready to Cruise—combine coloring, puzzles, activities, and plenty of laughs inspired by the things I enjoy myself.

I’m not an artist by training, and I certainly didn’t spend my corporate career dreaming of becoming a coloring book publisher. But retirement has a funny way of opening doors you never expected.

And I’m just getting started.

My hope is that Retired & Ready becomes more than a collection of books. I want it to be a brand that celebrates staying active, trying new things, laughing at ourselves, and making the most of this chapter of life.

Because retirement isn’t the end of the story.

It’s when the fun really begins.
